Electricity generated from renewable sources is becoming increasingly available nationwide. By choosing renewable energy instead of conventional electricity, consumers, businesses, and organisations can support new, clean technologies that will reduce the environmental impact of electricity generation and increase energy independence.

To recognise the actions of individuals, companies and organisations that are significantly advancing the development of renewable electricity sources through renewable energy markets, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Energy (DOE), and the Centre for Resource Solutions (CRS) are sponsoring the sixth annual Green Power Leadership Awards. The Leadership Awards banquet will be held in conjunction with the National Renewable Energy Marketing.

The Green Power Leadership Awards are competitive awards that recognise outstanding commitments and achievements in the renewable energy marketplace in the following three categories:

  • Purchasers – includes members or prospective members of the Green Power Partnership
  • Suppliers – includes renewable electricity providers, renewable energy certificate marketers, project developers, and equipment vendors
  • Market Development – includes renewable energy marketers, nonprofit organisations, companies, educational institutions, individuals, and other industry leaders
